Dollywood is introducing a new $20,000,000 roller coaster in March 2012! The “Wild Eagle” steel coaster will feature a floorless design. Four passengers will ride face forward, with two riders actually seated on the “wings” along either side of the coaster’s track. The “wing” seats will create a flying-like sensation, with nothing but air below and above the passenger.
Dollywood already has some great roller coasters, such as Tennessee Tornado, Mystery Mine, Blazing Fury and Thunderhead. However, the new “Wild Eagle” wing coaster, being the first of its kind in the United States, will top them all! Rising 21 stories into the sky, the coaster features a 135-ft first drop and will reach a top speed of 61 mph. Yet another reason to visit Dollywood on your next trip to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and the Great Smoky Mountains. Don’t forget that if you buy your Dollywood tickets after 3 p.m., the next day’s admission is free!
